JavaScript Job: Senior Back End Engineer

We’re looking for a skilled Senior Backend Developer (m/f/d) to join our team of creators constantly raising the bar on user and customer experiences. Working behind the scenes, the ideal candidate has a unique blend of technical expertise and insatiable curiosity. Do you have a desire to develop, document, and learn about highly distributed, event-sourced systems, code infrastructure the same way as applications, and be able to spawn the entire system on your laptop? Your Responsibilites

• You develop awesome backend applications in mainly Java 15 as well as other potential languages (like JavaScript and Go) for the infrastructure and network components
• You take part in all steps of building distributed systems - plan, develop, deploy and maintain event-sourced, microservices oriented systems
• You improve and further develop the current deployment pipeline (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and infrastructure (AWS CDK, CloudFormation)
• You maintain, monitor, and improve existing services, libraries, and infrastructure
• You write code and tests, build prototypes, solve issues, profile and analyze bottlenecks
• You focus on quality of code through proper testing and developer experience for other team members

Your Qualifications

• Experience implementing or designing highload, event-sourced or event streaming system
• Strong experience developing modern Java applications and deploying them in public clouds with full awareness of the infrastructure behind
• Fluency in testing strategies involving container environment
• Desire to document new ideas and complex flows with great detail level
• Growth mindset, challenging status quo to find new solutions and out-of-the-box ideas
• Have working visa/permit for Germany
• Fluency in English
